What's the hazard
Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2018 IC Bus CE transit buses. The release mechanism on the emergency windows may be difficult to open in an emergency situation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release.
What to do
Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will apply dry lubricant to the latch assembly, free of charge. The recall began on June 13, 2018. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 18509.
